Phil’s cartoons have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, San Francisco Chronicle, Reader’s Digest, Alta, The Chronicle of Higher Education, New Statesman, Private Eye, Prospect, and many other publications in the U.S. and U.K., as well as books, calendars, and greeting cards. He has also collaborated as a writer for other cartoonists, most notably Dan Piraro (“Bizarro”). Phil’s work has been exhibited in galleries in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and London, and is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. He was a cartoonist-in-residence at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California and the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. He’s a member of the National Cartoonists Society.
